Lesson Bookings
All lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to instructor availability.
Lesson dates, times, and collection/drop-off locations will be agreed between the learner and instructor.
North Coast School of Motoring reserves the right to refuse, postpone, or cancel lessons where necessary.
Lesson durations and training plans will be agreed between the learner and instructor based on individual requirements and progress.
Payments
Lesson fees must be paid in advance or at the start of each lesson unless otherwise agreed.
Block bookings and lesson packages must be paid in full before lessons commence.
Lesson prices may be amended from time to time; however, any prepaid lessons will be honoured at the agreed rate.
Failure to make payment may result in the suspension of future lesson bookings until payment is received.
Cancellations & Missed Lessons
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or rearrange a lesson.
Lessons cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at the full lesson rate.
Failure to attend a booked lesson without prior notice will be treated as a missed lesson and charged in full.
If an instructor needs to cancel a lesson, an alternative appointment will be offered wherever possible.
North Coast School of Motoring reserves the right to charge for any costs incurred as a result of repeated late cancellations or non-attendance.
Learner Responsibilities
To participate in driving lessons, learners must:
Hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and produce it upon request.
Inform their instructor of any medical condition, medication, disability, eyesight issue, or circumstance that may affect their ability to drive safely.
Wear suitable footwear and clothing for driving.
Conduct themselves in a safe, respectful, and cooperative manner throughout lessons.
Ensure they are fit to drive and are not under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair their driving ability.
Failure to comply with these requirements may result in lessons being cancelled or terminated without refund.
Instructor Responsibilities
Your instructor will:
Provide tuition professionally, safely, and in accordance with current DVA standards and industry best practice.
Supply a fully insured, roadworthy, and legally compliant training vehicle.
Deliver training appropriate to the learner's experience, ability, and progress.
Maintain confidentiality regarding learner information except where disclosure is required by law.
Driving Tests
Use of the instructor's vehicle for a practical driving test is entirely at the instructor's discretion.
Learners must demonstrate a safe and appropriate standard of driving before being presented for a practical test.
The instructor reserves the right to withdraw the use of the training vehicle for a driving test if, in their professional opinion, the learner is not test-ready or would present a safety risk.
DVA theory and practical test fees are separate from lesson fees and are not refundable by North Coast School of Motoring.
If a driving test is cancelled, postponed, or rescheduled by the DVA or due to circumstances beyond our control, North Coast School of Motoring accepts no liability for associated costs or losses.
Block Booking & Refunds
Prepaid lessons and lesson packages are non-transferable and may only be used by the individual learner who purchased them.
Refund requests for unused lessons may be considered at the instructor's discretion.
Any refund may be adjusted to reflect lessons already taken at the current standard lesson rate rather than any discounted package rate.
No refunds will be given for missed lessons, late cancellations, or lessons terminated due to learner misconduct.
Refunds, where approved, will normally be processed within 14 days.
Behaviour & Safety
Lessons may be terminated immediately if a learner behaves in an unsafe, aggressive, abusive, threatening, or inappropriate manner.
Lessons will not proceed if a learner is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair driving ability.
Smoking, vaping, or the use of illegal substances is not permitted in training vehicles.
No refund will be provided for lessons terminated due to unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.
